Msc Biomedical Engineering, Industrial PhD Biomechanics and Mechanobiology

Sif is part of the Technology & Software team at Plougmann Vingtoft, where she contributes with her knowledge and expertise within biomechanics and medico techniques as well as mechanobiology. With a BSc Mechanical Engineering, she also has a great understanding of this field.

During her PhD in Biomechanics and Mechanobiology, she characterized mechanical properties of gastric tissue and investigated mechanical and cellular consequences during interaction between medical device and tissue. Also, she used different types of equipment – including mechanical test benches and microscopy techniques to analyze the tissue microstructure (e.g. FIB-SEM / SEM (focused-ion-beam-scanning-electron-microscopy) and AFM (atomic force microscopy).

Furthermore, Sif has gained knowledge within MDR (medical device regulation) and EU Standards, including Application of risk management to medical devices, and Quality management systems — Requirements for regulatory purposes.

Sif works with all aspects of IPR, in particular patentability, patent drafting, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, and prosecution. She is fluent in both Danish and English as well as speaking some Swedish.
