IP MATTERS: A donation supporting sustainable entrepreneurs

At Plougmann Vingtoft, we support visionary entrepreneurs and their sustainable solutions. Therefore, we annually offer IP consultancy to selected Danish startups through our initiative “IP Matters,” worth DKK 50,000. The purpose of IP Matters is to give a significant boost to these startups by providing guidance on handling intellectual property rights and business development.

Navigating the IPR systems can be challenging, especially for newly established companies. However, it is essential to protect your company’s inventions, innovations, and ideas from being copied. Furthermore, a patent can secure your company’s investments in research and development, often being a prerequisite for investor interest. Therefore, professional assistance from IP experts can be beneficial throughout the process.

”We cannot save the world with IP consulting. But we can make sure that the talented, Danish entrepreneurs, who are introducing sustainable solutions, get the support they need to turn their ideas into a successful business. That is exactly what they will get from this donation.”

Finn Strøm Madsen, CEO at Plougmann Vingtoft

This year marks the sixth time we are awarding the IP Matters donation. In collaboration with the investor network Danish Business Angels (DanBAN), we are seeking visionary Danish startups that can benefit from IP consultancy and guidance in business development.

Promising startups

Last year, IP Matters was awarded to five startups, all working to improve the world in their own way. The five winners, each receiving a donation of DKK 50,000, were:

Yngvik, who are focusing on reducing the world’s plastic consumption by developing home-compostable and biodegradable plastic made from food waste residue. Their products, which dissolve naturally in both water and soil, address serious environmental issues.

Meat Tomorrow, who are developing a method to produce sustainable pork using a new stem cell technology in steel tanks. The goal is to revolutionize food production by developing sustainable pork with minimal CO2 emissions and land use.

Sylvia Health, who are focusing on improving the lives of women with pelvic organ prolapse by developing a non-surgical treatment that could benefit millions of women worldwide.

Rheia Medical, who are developing medical devices to help surgeons identify ureters during surgeries to avoid injuries and reduce operation time.

VPCIR Biosciences, which has developed a high-quality Lateral Flow test, making tuberculosis detection easier and more accessible. VPCIR’s technology also aims to make it easier to obtain reliable test results in remote areas of developing countries.
